Introduction
Silence is the abode of God; and quietness, the gateway into His presence. But, unfortunately, people negelct to practise silence, quietness and meditation, due to general spiritual blindness, ignorance and laziness. All because people do not study Spiritual Science. The ability to stay calm over life changing situations is called Spiritual Equilibrium, being calmly active and actively calm.
Meaning Of Spiritual Equilibrium
This is a balanced state of mind, which becomes manifest as peace, poise, rest, composure, calmness, self-control, level-headedness …. A person who has attained such a great and glorious position:
- Remains calm in success and failure.
- Is not offended by disappointments.
- Is not aggrieved by death or calamity.
- Is not influenced or moved by fears. Fear is unnecessary, and it is a poison, a deception.
- Is at rest, while in action or inaction. He is actively calm and calmly active.
- Is glorious in spirit and joyful at heart.
How To Attain Spiritual Equanimity (Spiritual Equilibrium)
Everyone can attain the glorious state of peace and poise by:
- Being moderate in every activity: he does not eat too much or too little; he does not over sleep or under sleep. He does not play too much or too little. And so on. Those who eat too much develop all kinds of sickness, and those who eat too little become malnourished and problem to the society. But, the person moderate in eating is free, happy and agile. The same is true of all engagements.
- Engaging in selfless services.
- By meditating on the ultimate, which is God, the Supreme Being.
- By studying and obeying the scriptures.
- By beholding God in all things, both animate and inanimate.
- By studying and practising Spiritual Science.

Body and Spirit
The spirit animates and dominates the body.
